Our Office Uses Advanced Technology
Digital X-Rays And 3-D Imaging Offer Safer, Clearer, And Faster Results.
Cutting Edge Dentistry
There seems to be a constant flow of new advancement in dental technology, and you want your dentist to remain current with the use of advanced technology. Dr. Samuel DeAngelo provides safer, clearer, and faster results for your dental treatment in his state-of-the-art periodontal practice.
As a periodontist, Dr. DeAngelo sees many patients who have suffered bone loss, which is a serious oral problem. It is very important to have a safe and accurate way of seeing your teeth and jaw bone to diagnose any issues as early as possible.
We no longer use the traditional dental film of the past to take x-rays. Instead, we utilize a digital sensor that can immediately display x-ray images on a computer monitor right in front of you. The sensor reduces your radiation exposure by almost 90 percent. The images are clear and easy to read. They can also be enlarged, allowing for a more accurate and often earlier diagnosis.
Through the use of digital x-rays, Dr. DeAngelo can involve you in diagnosing and understanding the treatment needed. Benefits of digital x-rays include:
- Fast turn-around time – no need to wait for film to develop and be mounted on frames
- Shorter appointments
- Clearer and earlier diagnosis – catch problems before they become too complex
- Less exposure to radiation
- Chair-side viewing allows for co-diagnosis
- Improved understanding of why treatment is needed
In cases where digital x-rays do not reveal all that is necessary for diagnosis and treatment, Dr. DeAngelo uses Cone Beam technology to provide highly accurate and safe 3-D images. This type of imaging aids in the planning and placement of dental implants, TMJ analysis, periodontal disease, and early detection of tumors and oral infections. Cone Beam technology provides a high-resolution panoramic image of the teeth and jaw. The digital scan cuts down on radiation exposure and offers a quick turn-around time, allowing for a more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Benefits of Cone Beam Technology
- Entire jaw and positioning of teeth can be viewed
- Clearly see and access nerve placement before procedure to reduce risk of damage
- Faster scan time (10 to 40 seconds)
- More accurate diagnosis with clearer treatment plans
- Less radiation exposure than traditional x-rays
Dr. DeAngelo uses advanced technology because he values your safety and your time. Receive customized dental care along with safer, clearer, and faster results by calling our office today for your consultation.
We believe in placing dental implants in a way, which is gentle, minimally invasive and done correctly the first time. In order to meet these high personal standards, our office utilizes dental implant placement software called SimPlant® to identify the best location to place single or multiple dental implants.
SimPlant allows our office to take a 3D scan of the jaw bone, arteries, veins, nerves, and the maxillary sinus. We then use these 3D scans to identify the best position to place a dental implant. Traditional digital x-rays are able to show only a limited amount of information. This limited information does not allow us to plan a specific treatment course designed for optimal long-term success.
The Benefits of SimPlant®
SimPlant has many benefits, including:
- Improved visualization of your unique mouth and jaw structure
- Increased accuracy of implant placement
- Ability to create a treatment plan designed for long-term success
- Eliminates surprises during the implant placement procedure
- Chair-side viewing allows for co-diagnosis
- Increased rate of success for dental implants
I like the medical staff for their skill, knowledge, friendliness and quality of care they provide to keep us smiling. Thank you. - Ratan R.
