“Hands down best dental experience ever! Before I went there I thought I would never smile again but after my visit It’s been nothing but smiles.” – Lilly S.
It’s important to remember that not everyone will be a candidate to receive this procedure. We encourage our potential patients in Cary, NC and surrounding areas to contact our expert team to make an appointment to clearly understand what is involved in the All-on-4® technique.
To help our patients better understand who will be a candidate, we have compiled some of the requirements for candidacy.
All-on-4® Candidates
- Being in good overall health is very important when undertaking any surgical procedure.Make sure that leading up to the procedure that you are getting plenty of rest, eating well and ensuring your immune system is strong.
- Along with having good overall health and a strong immune system you must be free of any periodontal disease or any other oral health concerns. If you’re struggling with periodontal issues Dr. DeAngelo can provide treatment prior to the implant procedure.
- The All-on-4® procedure is designed for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth. Single tooth implants are routinely done by Dr. DeAngelo but would fall outside of the scope of the All-on-4® technique. During the consultation we may find that multiple teeth need to be extracted; and in this case we would recommend the implant supported option.
- Since multiple screws will be placed in your jawbone, you must have an adequate amount of bone in order to provide support and structure. If you’ve had missing teeth for an extended period of time the jaw will naturally begin to shrink and will not be able to support the necessary posts. One option for adding more bone, is bone grafting, which Dr. DeAngelo can speak about if the need arises.
- All-on-4® dental implants are a great option for people who are dissatisfied with the stability that their current dentures provide. If you’re looking for a permanent solution All-on-4® may be for you!
The Procedure
Initially, we will apply a local a local anesthetic to help the patient remain comfortable. Once the
anesthetic has begun to work, Dr. DeAngelo will create small incisions in the gums and insert four titanium posts in your upper or lower jaw. With the aid of our advanced cone beam 3D imaging software and the revolutionary robot assisted guidance from Yomi®, Dr. DeAngelo is able to accurately place the implants to maximize stability, effectiveness and reduce chances of implant failure. The angle at which the implants are placed generally allows a denture of 14 teeth to be placed on 4 dental implants. Thus the name, All-on-4® dental implants.
In many cases, we can immediately attach the denture after the implant surgery. Over the next 4-6 months, your bone tissue will begin to fuse naturally to the implant. This process is called osseointegration!
Every patient and every situation is different. It is important to contact the specialists at Dr. DeAngelos office to setup your personalized consultation and see if the All-on-4® procedure is right for you!
All-on-4® Dental Implant Cost
One of the most common questions we receive about All-on-4® dental implants, or dental implants in general is: “what is the cost of the All-on-4® procedure?”
Unfortunately, this is not a simple answer. As stated above there are a variety of situations that could lead to a more or less expensive procedure. Some of those situations are:
• The treatment of periodontal disease prior to the procedure.
• The extraction of teeth prior to the procedure.
• The need for bone grafting to ensure comfortable, long lasting implants.
• The amount of titanium posts needed (full upper, lower or both)
All of these things can lead to a very large range of what the cost for your implants may be. The surgical cost for denture supported implants can range from roughly $12,500 to $30,000. Once the surgery portion of the procedure has been completed Dr. DeAngelo will refer you to a restorative specialist to have the dental crowns placed on the surgically implanted posts.
Dr. DeAngelo and his team strive to make this as affordable as possible for patients who are in need of regaining the function of their teeth. We provide access to: Proceed Finance and CareCredit.
